We will actually need the equipments supplied by the charterer and the specialist for photography and our work is to ensure the pilot flies within the given coordinates and abides to the photographer instructions strictly and even repeats the instruction when almost at the destination for confirmation. The vast majority of modern cameras have built-in metering systems, which work to a high standard and greatly reduce the possibility of picture failure as a result of incorrect exposure.

However ,there are many occasions when an automatic metering system may let you down for example when photographing white birds,or light co loured animals ,against a dark background or, alternatively, dark birds or animals against a light sky or background.Under such lighting conditions knowledge in the use of +/- compensation is required. In the case of white/light subjects against dark backgrounds, the metering system may well be influenced to a great extent by the dark areas, thereby over exposing your main subject. This will require you to under expose to retain detail in the important white/light subject areas.Conversely in the case of dark subjects against light skies or backgrounds, the light areas may well over influence the metering, resulting in a silhouette of the main subject. This problem will require you to over expose in order to obtain detail in the shadow or dark areas of your subject. Many present day cameras have a + /- compensation facility to aid the photographer with these awkward exposure situations.

First Boeing 747-8 Enters Service With Lufthansa.

Lufthansa ,Launch customer for Boeings new 747-8 Intercontinental airliner, became the first airline in the world to introduce the type into commercial service when the inaugural flight with the airliner was made at the beginning of this month from its home base in Frankfurt to Dulles International Airport,Washington DC.

The introduction of the service followed two celebratory functions last month-the first 747-8 to Lufthansa at Boeings manufacturing facility in Everest,Washington state, followed the next day by its arrival in Frankfurt on its delivery flight which included a “touch –and –go” landing at Hamburg,Germany, enroute.

“We are looking forward to welcoming the Boeing 747-8 Intercontinental to our long-haul fleet ,” Lufthansa Executive Board member, at Frankfurt Airport to celebrate the arrival of the aircraft.

“In future we will offer our passengers on board this completely newly developed long-haul aircraft an exclusive travel experience and the comfort of our new Business Class. The Boeing 747-8 is characterized by lower noise emissions, lower fuel consumption and significantly reduced C02 emissions. That enables us to combine maximum comfort with sustainability,”he added.

Saying that Lufthansa had contributed greatly to this new and efficient aircraft,Elizabeth Lund, vice president and general manager 747,Boeing Commercial Airplanes ,added: “ We are proud to celebrate this important milestone together with Lufthansa, our partner of more than 50 years and the launch customer for the new 747-8 Intercontinental.”

Lufthansa passengers had their first opportunity to experience the new Business Class when the aircraft entered service on June 1. The new seat offers exceptional comfort for passengers in a sitting or recumbent position, intuitive adjustment features, additional storage space and an individual entertainment system with much larger 15-inch screens. At the press of a button, the seat converts into a comfortable bed with a horizontal sleeping surface measuring 1,98 metres in length.

For the first time,First Class passengers will be seated in the front section of the main deck, the quietest part of the aircraft. On the B747-8 ,this area is exceptionally quiet-thanks to the outer skin insulation,sound-absorbing curtains, which minimize specific noises, and the sound-deadening material used in the aircraft flooring. Each of the eight First Class seats can be converted into a lie-flat bed, which is 2,07 metres long and 800mm wide.

With the new Business Class, the exclusive First Class and the refined design of the Economy Class seat, the new Jumbo offers passengers in all classes what the airline describes as “the ultimate in travel comfort.”

The Boeing 747-8 Intercontinental is a completely new aircraft that builds upon the positive features of the Boeing 747 series, which has been Lufthansas long-haul workhorse for the past 40 years. The aircraft boasts significantly improved aerodynamics and newly developed wingtips, and also provides tangible improvements in terms of eco-efficiency. The Gent GEnx-2B engines use less fuel and achieve a substantial 15% reduction in fuel consumption and C02 emissions per passenger. In addition, noise emissions have been reduced by 30%.

Boeing 747-8I is 76,3 metres long,5,6 metres longer than its predecessor, the Boeing 747-400.The new Lufthansa Jumbo can seat 362 passengers: eight in First Class,92 in Business Class ad 262 in Economy Class. Lufthansa will take delivery of 20 Boeing 747-8s up until 2015.

Ultimately airlines have to invest in jumbo jets which will be able to take twice and also give the passenger benefit of cheap airfares. The bigger the aircraft the lower the ticket and airlines operators should strive to invest in jumbo aircraft for long-haul scheduled flights and also ensure comfortability, efficiency , effectiveness and cost effective. They should also ensure on long-haul flights they utilize the Jumbo jets and airliners which are fuel saving with low maintenance cost.
