Consultancy For Pilot Training Course Both Locally and Globally.

Wings Over Africa Aviation Limited besides providing air charter services it also does consultation in pilot training course. As aviation experts we advice on the duration of the course, the cost ,the syllabus and the efficiency and reliability and by ensuring the training school commits on the duration and the cost agreed upon by entering into a contract before commencement of the training. We also give the student the liberty to shop for the training locally and globally so that he /she can realize that we have bargaining power to ensure he/he gets the cost that is competitive and affordable.Thereafter we now embark on talking to training schools and give him/her the best and also ensuring there is a commitment and we manage and monitor the student progress on a weekly basis and liaise with the parent/guardian. It is our responsibility to manage and consult for the entire period of training and guide the student until he/she converts the license to Kenyan by providing quality ground and flight instructors of which the student is responsible for the costs. The conversion course takes one month for both flight and ground classes. We will also assist the student after completion of the course to secure a job in general aviation or Kenya Airways. We charge a fee for this consultation. For those who want to train a broad the course will take 15 month of which 14 month for the completion of the entire course and 1 month for conversion.

The qualifications for becoming a pilot,

1. One should have passed the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education with a mean grade of C+ and above and with C+ in Maths, C+ in English and C+ in any of the science subjects and C+ in Geography. For those with B and above including degrees stands a better chance to fly for the National Carrier as Kenya Airways mean grade is C+. For enrollment you will require to sit for an English paper, General paper for evaluation and 3 flying lessons. If you pass this stage you will be required to go for a medical check up with an approved aviation doctor by Kenya Civil Aviation Authority to check whether you are fit to fly by checking your eye-sight and  and if you have heart disease or high blood pressure as this are determinants. Once you pass this you will apply for the Students Pilot License which will enable you fly and incase of an accident or incident the insurance will compensate. If you fall shortfall with a mean grade in the three subjects an upgrade is allowed in that particular subject before you proceed and after the upgrade and if you pass then you enroll.

Below find the stages for the training course,

PRIVATE PILOTS LICENSE.

This course will normally take three month and you cover theory lessons in Navigation, Air Law, Meteorology and Flight planning and 55 hours of flying. You will not get a license if you do not pass the theory exams even if you are good at flying. Bright students take 55 hrs and those not bright take up to 75 hrs.We have solo flight whereby the student will fly alone without an instructor and this is normally attained after 15 to 20 hours for bright students and you can not go solo when you are below 17 years. This license cannot be used for commercial flights but only for private flights.

COMMERCIAL PILOTS LICENSE.
This course takes 8 month and there are 11 papers to be covered in grounds lessons of which a student has to pass before he gets his license and he needs to fly 150 hours including cross countries. Subjects involved are, Meteorology, Navigation, Air Law, Aircraft Performance, Weight & Balance, and Flight planning among others. With this license one can do commercial flights but cannot fly in bad weather as he/she does not have Instrument Rating.

MULTI –IR.
This is the last stage and once you are through then you can fly for an air charter Company or AN Airline as co-pilot or first officer to gain hours and experience. You fly the twin engine aircraft, you do a Type Technical Rating on a certain aircraft, and you taught how to fly instruments without having to look outside that is Instrument Flying and not Visual Flying. This is important that at night or in bad weather you are able to fly and know where you using instruments in the aircraft. This training takes a month.

COLLABORATION.
Due to bad weather in East Africa we have collaborated with flying schools in South Africa, United States of America. Sometimes weather in East Africa is terrible and we prefer those students with enough funds to train abroad to avoid delays as some are sponsored and need to finish training and pay the loans. For those that do not have sufficient funds we encourage them to train locally as if they go aboard they will suffer and turn into slavery. We have collaboration with a school in Florida and you are able to get the full training course including accommodation and meals at usd 52,900=00 and we will facilitate your visa and since we are an aviation company there wouldn't be a problem as as like when you go as an individual. With individual they fear you might not be going for the purpose requested for and hence disappearing in those countries. The above training costs are subject to change should the government increase fuel or cost per mile then we will adjust then accordingly.

Training in the United states is quicker if you have funds as you can fly upto midnight and also the schools have several aircrafts and qualified engineers who ensures they are well checked and maintained. The weather also is good all through not like in East Africa.
