Mountain Kilimanjaro is one of the tallest mountains in Africa situated in Tanzania in Eastern Africa and just next to Kilimanjaro airport. There are both commercial and private charter flights into and out of this airport locally, international and regionally. There are hotels within and adjacent to the airport and to the neighboring towns Moshi and Arusha and it will be your choice. You can rent a plane or using scheduled flights to or from Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, and Burundi to Kilimanjaro for African safari vacation .You can criss-cross the East Africa countries using charter flights, celebrity executive jets, private plane hire,helicopter,commercial flights from whichever angle, so when travelling to these countries don’t worry about your connectivity. On approaching Kilimanjaro airport you will be able to sight seeing the mountain and on departure especially in the afternoons as in the morning it is covered with clouds.

Mountain climbers have to stay for minimum 5 days to be able to accomplish their tour to Mountain Kilimanjaro and nothing less than that and they are packages categorized into two namely climber and standard packages. There are different routes used namely Lemosho,Machame,Marangu,Rongai,Umbwe via Arrow Glacier and every route has been packaged differently. It is advantageous when you are in a group as you will enjoy discounted rates. Also note climbs can be done each and every day of the year and you can choose any date that suits your schedule. However, if you would like to join an existing group, then it will be possible to join any of the existing climbs as per the schedule. Though joining these groups will offer a social benefit but you will not enjoy financial benefit as the package will remain the same. Your are advised before you make your travel arrangements check and make your reservations as you might arrive and find the climbing activities full and you might wait for long thus spending much more money on accommodation,meals,park fees which is not necessary. Though the climbing dates starts at any day and are flexible but it will be subject to availability.

In the standard package the extra day on the mountain per person will be charged based on the route, all prices per person sharing ,except for group size single, all prices are subject to change without notice should Kilimanjaro park fees change and 20% discount on ground arrangements for children 15 years or less.What is not included in the standard package is, items of a personal nature, tips for guides,porters,and cook-depending on number of days/how many hikers in the group and route chosen, entry visa for Tanzania usd 50=00 per passport holder for most nationalities and usd100=00 per visa for USA passport holders, health requirements(yellow fever-compulsory, meningitis& Hepatitis A optional but recommended, optional travel insurance, personal hiking/trekking gear, airfares and departure taxes,snacks,personal medicine and water purifying tablets and meals & drinks not specified and snacks.

The items excluded in the climbers package is the snacks, personal medicine and water purifying tablets ,dinner not included and can be arranged on request and at an extra cost, no water provided, no sports energy drink for your summit night, but the rest are as the ones listed in standard package.

There are also full moon summit dates should you leave about 4-6 days before these dates, depending on the length of your trip. For 6 Day plan your hike to start on the following dates.

Note these dates are usually popular, so if you prefer a quieter trip, go for the new moon dates instead, which will show you countless stars.
